Job summary

The University of Washington Department of Surgery invites applications for a faculty position in General Surgery at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, without tenure (WOT). The role is based primarily at UW Medical Center-Northwest and Montlake campuses and begins Fall/Winter 2027.

These twelve-month appointments include clinical practice, education of residents and students, and the development of scholarly expertise.

Qualifications

• MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
• USMLE steps completed or equivalent for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute general surgery consultation in inpatient, urgent and elective outpatient settings.
• Participate in emergency surgical call and elective general surgical practice.
• Educate surgical residents, medical students and division fellows.
• Develop an area of scholarly expertise in consultation with Division/Section Chiefs.
