Job summary

The Department of Surgery at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, without tenure (WOT), by reason of funding with an anticipated start date Fall/Winter 2027. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a 12-month appointment beginning Fall/Winter 2027.

Qualifications

• MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for medical licensure in Washington.
• Board eligibility (or foreign equivalent) by the American Board of Surgery.
• USMLE steps completed or equivalent as required for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute general surgery consultation in inpatient, urgent and outpatient settings, including emergency department.
• Engage in teaching of residents, medical students, and division fellows.
• Develop scholarly expertise in consultation with Division and Section Chiefs.
• Collaborate across UWMC-NW and UWMC-ML campuses and participate in call coverage.
