Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia is seeking a full-time General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our General Surgery Service Team. The APP will provide initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing evaluations for newly admitted and inpatients in the acute care setting, with day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Acute Care NP or PA required.
• Surgical or inpatient experience preferred.
• Virginia license or license eligible.
• DEA, BLS, ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergent/urgent needs for hospitalized general surgery patients.
• Perform initial assessment and establish plans with the attending surgeon.
• Admit patients to the service and order necessary studies.
• Document encounters and communicate with the care team.
• Participate in rounds, sign-outs, and quality improvement initiatives.
