Job summary

Inova Health System in Northern Virginia is seeking a full-time General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our Willow Oaks Surgery office. The APP will support outpatient surgery patients and provide first-response care within the general surgery team.

Applicants should have a master's degree in an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, with surgical or inpatient experience preferred and Virginia license eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in acute care nursing or physician assistant program completed.
• Surgical or inpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergent/urgent care needs within scope of practice.
• Provide first response coverage while on duty.
• Perform initial assessment of general surgery consults and report findings.
• Admit patients and order diagnostic studies as needed.
• Perform wound care, drains management, and postoperative care.
• Document encounters and communicate with care teams.
• Participate in rounds, sign-out, and systemwide initiatives.
