Job summary
Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG) seeks a dedicated Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our General Surgery team in Frederick, MD. You will evaluate and manage general surgery patients, respond to ED and inpatient consultations, and coordinate with a collaborative physician- and team-based environment.
This role emphasizes clinical autonomy within a strong physician partnership and opportunities to develop advanced general surgery care competencies
Qualifications
- Master’s degree for NP or PA program graduation is required.
- Maryland license or ability to obtain it is required.
- DEA license and Maryland CDS license are required.
- BLS certification is required.
- Unrestricted license with no suspension history is required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to general surgery consultations from ED, hospitalists, and inpatients.
- Perform histories and physical exams focused on general surgery issues.
- Collaborate with surgeons to develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Order and interpret labs and imaging with the surgeon.
- Assist with inpatient rounding, postoperative care, discharge planning and coordination.
- Document accurately in the EMR and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
