About The Role

The General Service Technician role involves both front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week at the front counter. Responsibilities include vehicle repairs, maintenance, communicating with guests, and assisting in driving sales and providing excellent guest experiences.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $17.00 to $21.00 per hour based on experience, with additional performance incentives.

Responsibilities

1. Perform vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently.
2. Conduct tire services such as wheel removal, balancing, repairs, and TPMS service.
3. Perform vehicle services like oil changes, basic maintenance, and battery testing.
4. Complete Courtesy Inspections on every guest vehicle and communicate additional services needed.
5. Assist with inventory management and store duties to maintain a guest-ready environment.
6. Follow safety standards and operate equipment safely.
7. Test drive vehicles following company policies and safety laws.
8. Adhere to company policies, environmental codes, and OSHA standards.
9. Maintain technical knowledge through training and certification.
10. Operate and maintain equipment safely.
11. Assist with guest care, work orders, and store operations as needed.
12. Handle opening and closing responsibilities as a secondary key holder.
13. Communicate product and service offerings effectively to guests.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Automotive training or experience in basic car maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, and dust. Must be able to work flexible hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical activities like standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
