Job summary

Colorado Psychiatric is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Instructor at the Wulf Recreation Center in Evergreen, CO. You will teach gymnastics classes, demonstrate skills, supervise participants, and ensure a safe, positive learning environment for children.

GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTOR

Location: Wulf Recreation Center - 5300 S Olive Rd, Evergreen CO 80439
Reports to: Recreation Supervisor-Gymnastics
Status: Part-Time


NATURE OF WORK

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor – Gymnastics, teaches safe, fun, and age-appropriate gymnastics classes. This position helps participants learn new skills, build confidence, and have a positive experience in the gym.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Teach gymnastics classes for children of different ages and skill levels.
  • Demonstrate skills and help participants safely practice and improve.
  • Supervise participants and maintain a positive, organized class environment.
  • Explain and enforce gym and equipment safety rules.
  • Set up, move, inspect, and put away equipment before and after classes.
  • Take attendance and track participant progress as assigned.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with participants, parents, and coworkers.
  • Keep the gymnastics area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Report injuries, incidents, damaged equipment, and other concerns.
  • Provide basic first aid and follow emergency procedures when needed.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Notify the supervisor when unable to work and assist with finding qualified substitute coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ABILITIES

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in an indoor environment with frequent interruptions and distractions
  • Ability to instruct gymnasts properly and safely to reach goals
  • Gymnastics experience as a participant, coach, instructor, or judge.
  • 0 - 3 years’ experience with gymnastics and other programs either as a participant, judge, or in a capacity that would result in hands on knowledge of the sport.
  • 0 - 3 years’ experience instructing specified course hired to teach.
  • Experience working with children is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to lead a group and provide clear, encouraging instruction.
  • Dependable, positive, and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • USA Gymnastics safety training or ability to complete it within one month of employment.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain it within six months of employment.
  • Must complete required background checks and employment screenings
