Job summary

The City of Richardson Parks & Recreation seeks a Gymnastics Instructor to teach year-round gymnastics programs to individuals or groups under supervision. You will assist with physical skill work and ensure safety standards are followed.

Ideal candidates have experience in gymnastics or cheerleading or child care, and can demonstrate the necessary teaching and communication skills to work with participants of diverse ages. Position requires reliability and teamwork in a city program.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to teach and communicate effectively using whatever skills necessary, physical or otherwise.
• Knowledge preferred of current gymnastics skills, teaching and spotting techniques.
• Must present evidence of experience and background/references in gymnastics/ cheerleading and or child care.
• Recent experience as either a gymnast/cheerleader or child care worker recommended.
• Must be able to demonstrate required ability/skill.
• Must be able to assist with physical skill work with students as appropriate.

GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTOR - Parks & Recreation

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, teaches individuals and/or groups of various sizes in year round gymnastics program. Assists with physical skill work with students as appropriate.Does related work as required.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• May be required to carry, push, pull, drag and/or hold up to 30 pounds of furniture or equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance chores.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONS, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:
