Job summary

Tyson Foods in Houston is seeking a Team Member for the 2nd shift to inspect packages, seal cases, and assist with palletizing finished products. You will follow job tickets and Tyson quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Safety is emphasized, with duties including lifting up to 61 pounds, standing and walking, and working in loud, cold, and humid conditions. Training is provided and Equal Opportunity employment is guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect packages for packaging defects based on job ticket information.
• Place correct packages into cases and seal cases as required.
• Control manual palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack finished products onto pallets.
• Ensure product stacks are prepared according to Tyson quality specifications and customer instructions.
• Be aware of approximate weights and follow special instructions from QA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Tasks

• Team Member is responsible for inspecting packages for packaging defects based on the job ticket information, place the correct packages into the cases and seal the cases as required.
• Will also be responsible for controlling manual palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack on pallet containers of finished products.
• Responsible for ensuring that product stacks are being properly prepared and that product is properly graded.
• Prepare product stacks according to customer and Tyson quality specifications. (Special instructions may be included in the job ticket and/or stated by QA).
• Know approximate weights of product for orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• The Team Member must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move up to 61 pounds.
• The Team Member will use both hands equally.
• The Team Member will be regularly required to stand, use hands/fingers to handle, or feel.
• The Team Member will be frequently required to walk.
• The Team Member will use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The Team Member is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
• The Team Member will work in an environment where the noise level is usually loud.
