Aerotek is hiring for a General Production Worker on a contract-to-hire basis in Alsip, IL. This fully onsite role supports high-volume manufacturing across multiple lines, focusing on packaging, material handling, and line changeovers.

You will assist machine operators, monitor quality, and keep lines running efficiently in a fast-paced team environment. The role requires physical activity, reliability on shift schedules (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), and a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with machine operating or line work in production.
• Proven ability to perform changeovers and setups on production or packaging equipment.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished products into boxes directly from the production line with speed and accuracy.
• Load and unload materials from production lines to keep operations running continuously.
• Gather and stage raw materials and supplies needed for production runs.
• Monitor lines and unclog jams to minimize downtime and maintain flow.
• Cap bottles and ensure closures are secure and meet quality standards.
• Trim excess plastic from bottles and components for a clean finish.
• Work across production areas as needed, including trimming and filling.
• Lift bags and materials safely during daily duties.
• Wrap pallets of finished product for storage or shipment.
• Support machine operators with changeovers and setups for new products.
• Inspect products visually during handling to identify defects.
• Stay active and engaged on the lines during the shift.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate issues impacting production or quality.

The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy, team-oriented environment.

• Monitor lines and quickly unclog jams to minimize downtime and maintain flow.

• Trim excess plastic from bottles and components to achieve a clean, finished appearance.
• Work in different production areas as needed, including trimming, filling, and other line tasks.
• Lift bags and other materials safely as part of daily material-handling duties.
• Wrap pallets of finished product securely for storage or shipment.
• Support machine operators with changeovers and setups to prepare lines for new products or runs.
• Inspect products visually during handling to identify obvious defects or issues.
• Stay active and engaged on the lines throughout the shift, with no prolonged standing in one place.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with machine operating or line work in production.
• Proven ability to perform changeovers and setups on production or packaging equipment.
• Comfort working in an incredibly fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move continuously throughout the entire shift.
• Basic troubleshooting skills to recognize and respond to line issues such as jams.
• Strong attention to detail when packing, trimming, and inspecting products.
• Reliability in adhering to assigned shift schedules (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
