BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE in Minnesota is seeking a part-time General Merchandise Supervisor to assist customers with school supplies, electronics, dorm, gifts, and clothing while supporting the GM management team in daily operations. The role requires energy, a customer-focused approach, and knowledge of department operations.

You will engage students and campus communities, maintain attractive displays, process sales, and ensure merchandise availability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to hang, fold, shelve, and price merchandise per planogram.
• Assist customers with school supplies, electronics, dorm, convenience, gifts, and clothing while supporting store operations.
• Greet customers, describe merchandise, recommend products, and finalize sales.
• Help keep the store clean and merchandised to maintain an appealing selling floor.
• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
