Job summary

You will mentor staff, promote safe operations, manage training, and work to resolve issues quickly. This role requires 1 year of management experience and strong communication skills in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Experience with staffing, hiring and scheduling.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to mentor team members across the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and develop career paths.
• Disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and control shrink for the department.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Ensure a safe work environment and thorough training for all staff.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
