Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking an experienced retail supervisor to plan, direct, and oversee day-to-day store operations. You will mentor and coach team members, drive customer service excellence, and ensure the store meets company standards.

The role focuses on staffing, training, and delivering sales growth while maintaining a safe, welcoming shopping environment. A minimum of 2–3 years in retail with at least 1 year in a leadership role is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Maintain store appearance focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales, and maintain shrink for the department.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure team is trained and consistently adheres to training requirements.
• Spend large portion of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
