Job description

The general mechanic is responsible for providing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on all types of equipment and vehicles.

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the GSE Manager.

Work Environment
This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and involves direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, including but not limited to:

1. Must be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
2. Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
3. Outside work in all types of weather conditions.
4. Position requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing a ladder.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt position that includes shift work, requiring evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications

1. Experience in Diesel and Gasoline engine troubleshooting and repair preferred.
2. Acceptable driving record.
3. Ability to pass a background check.
4. Zero tolerance drug-free employer includes pre-employment and random screening.
