Restaurant Zone Recruiting is seeking an experienced General Manager in Costa Mesa to lead daily operations for a high-volume upscale restaurant. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong hospitality, and a proven track record in financial performance and team development.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fine dining or full-service concepts, be able to manage front and back of house, and build stable, high-performing teams while maintaining premium guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven GM or senior restaurant management in high-volume fine dining or polished full-service concepts.
• Experience leading both front and back of house operations.
• Strong understanding of restaurant P&L, labor, food cost, inventory, and profitability.
• 2+ years in recent positions preferred; stable career history.

A well established, high volume upscale restaurant in Costa Mesa is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations and a large restaurant team.

This is a hands on leadership opportunity for an accomplished restaurant operator who understands high volume service, exceptional hospitality, financial performance, and team development. The right candidate will have a strong background in fine dining, upscale dining, or another high volume full service concept and a proven record of building stable, high performing teams.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily restaurant operations while maintaining high standards for food, service, hospitality, and cleanliness


• Recruit, train, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members


• Build a strong leadership team and establish clear expectations and accountability


• Oversee sales, labor, food costs, inventory, scheduling, and other key performance metrics


• Manage labor efficiently while maintaining service standards during high volume periods


• Review financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability


• Partner closely with culinary and service leadership to ensure consistent execution


• Maintain strong standards for food safety, compliance, and restaurant operations


• Resolve guest concerns professionally and protect the overall guest experience


• Support succession planning and develop future restaurant leaders


• Maintain a visible presence on the floor and lead by example

What We’re Looking For

• Proven General Manager or senior restaurant management experience in high volume fine dining, upscale dining, or polished full service restaurants


• Strong experience leading both front and back of house operations


• Experience managing large teams in a high volume environment


• Strong understanding of restaurant P&L, labor, food cost, inventory, and profitability


• Excellent hospitality and guest service skills


• Strong leadership, communication, and team development abilities


• Ability to make sound decisions and remain composed in a fast paced environment


• Stable career history with clear progression and increasing responsibility


• 2+ years in recent positions preferred, with no pattern of frequent job changes


• Demonstrated commitment to building long term success within an organization
