Job summary

Akers Packaging Service Group seeks a General Manager to oversee a Midwest site, directing roughly 60 employees with potential growth to 200 through acquisitions. You will integrate sales, production, safety, financial responsibility, and people management to drive profitability and zero-defect quality.

Reporting to the President, you will develop new business with the sales team, monitor pipeline, visit prospects, and mentor site leaders while partnering with HR on staffing and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing/production in the corrugated packaging industry.
• 7+ years of experience managing a team.
• Proficient knowledge of profit and loss reports, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Experience with ERP and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Design teams.
• Set market sales strategies and goals aligned with corporate objectives.
• Direct promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market, and retain and grow competitive position in the industry.
• Visit new and existing customers to develop and deepen relationships.
• Promote the organization in industry, manufacturing, or trade associations.
• Achieve operational efficiency and economy by directing activities within the office and plant.
• Direct budgeting process and monthly analysis to maximize profitability.
• Coordinate with HR on staffing forecasts and development.
