Job summary

Momentum Indoor Climbing is seeking a General Manager for our Naperville location. The GM will oversee Gym Operations, Facility, and Retail staff, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment and strong guest experience.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, coordinating with department managers, managing schedules and performance, and driving community engagement while maintaining Momentum’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years climbing experience with enthusiasm for the sport.
• Minimum 3 years of people management, customer service, and operational leadership.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day operation of the facility and ensure safety, cleanliness, and quality.
• Lead Gym Operations, Facility, and Retail teams including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Create staff schedules and manage timecards, coverage, and events.
• Collaborate with Programs and Routesetting managers to align department goals.
• Lead monthly all-staff meetings and maintain open communication and accountability.
• Engage with members and community to support retention and guest experience.
