Job summary

Small Cheval, a Chicagoland original and part of Hogsalt, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full Time General Manager to join our team in Chicago. You will lead front-of-house and kitchen operations, drive guest hospitality, and manage a P&L with a focus on profitability.

We offer a negotiable salary plus a quarterly bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k), commuter benefits, dining discounts, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• At least two years of FOH leadership experience in quick-service or full-service restaurants.
• At least two years of kitchen leadership experience and training in culinary teams.
• Experience staffing, recruiting, training, scheduling, and payroll.
• Experience managing a P&L with strong financial understanding.
• Ability to identify problems and implement solutions in service and operations.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Progress and refine all service areas in the restaurant.
• Ensure policies on recruiting, hiring and training are followed and documented.
• Communicate professionally with guests, employees and leadership.
• Handle daily admin tasks: opening/closing, refunds, time cards, payroll, tip exchanges.
• Create hourly schedules two weeks in advance while maintaining staffing levels.
• Review financials daily and lead monthly financial calls with leadership.
• Be the point person for guest relations and hospitality across interactions.
• Collaborate with Events, Marketing, Purchasing, Culinary and Director teams.
