Your Talent Team is seeking a General Operations Manager for the Richmond, VA area (Petersburg) to lead branch operations, sales and production. The role requires strong knowledge of custom home building, vendor networks, and a servant-leader management style to drive teams and processes.

The candidate will oversee production and sales cycles, manage budgets, mentor staff, and optimize profitability while maintaining top-tier customer service and local vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience managing branches or large field teams.
• Knowledge of residential construction processes and vendor management.
• Ability to review budgets, P&L and allocate resources effectively.

Responsabilités

• Review new leads with Sales Team.
• Review advertising and approve budget.
• Weekly updates with Division President.
• Review sales pipeline, contracts, starts, warranty, settlements.
• Review projections and challenges with managers & Corporate leadership.
• Recruit/hire/train/mentor/supervise employees, subs and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts & hire subs and suppliers.
• Review overhead costs and general P&L.
• Address customer concerns & communicate resolutions.

Job Description

A National leader in the custom home building industry, is looking for a General Operations Manager in Richmond, VA (Petersburg)

The ideal candidate must possess a strong knowledge of custom residential construction, familiar with production building (multiple homes at one time), hard work ethic, problem-solving skills, and a servant-leader management style.

The candidate will preferable be from/familiar with the South Richmond VA area & knows the local vendors/subs/etc to acclimate more quickly to the operations.

This company is looking for the right person with “positive energy” and strong leadership abilities that will constantly be driving the Production & Sales processes as well as growing the team.

Here is the basic breakdown of their approach to managing all aspects of the branch operations, sales & production for our office clientele & staff.

Overview of Priorities:

• Review new leads with Sales Team
• Review advertising and approve budget
• Updates with Division President weekly
• Review sales pipeline, contracts, Starts, Warranty, Settlements, etc
• Review projections and challenges with managers & Corporate leadership.

• Job inspection when necessary
• Final Review meetings
• Plan reviews
• Recruit/hire/train/mentor/supervise employees, subs and vendors
• Networking expertise
• Negotiate contracts & Hire subs and suppliers
• Review overhead costs and general P&L
• Address customer concerns & Communicate Resolutions

Personal/Family Compensation & Benefits:

• 401K
• Competitive salary (average ~$125-140k/year DOE) + Bonus'
• Bonus structure based on Branch profit/sales (3% of volume)
