MAX Fitness & Wellness in Berkeley, NJ seeks a dynamic General Manager to drive location performance, sales growth, and exceptional member experiences. You will lead a team of instructors and front desk staff, coach for results, and ensure smooth operations daily.

The role rewards leadership with commissions/bonus and offers growth opportunities within a nationally recognized fitness brand. This is an in-person, full-time position at our Berkeley center.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership or management experience (fitness, retail, hospitality, or sales preferred).
• Strong sales background with a proven ability to drive revenue.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• High energy, positive attitude, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable leading from the front and being hands-on daily.
• Passion for health, fitness, and helping others succeed.

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the location, including sales, team leadership, member experience, and day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys coaching and developing others, and is driven by both people and performance. You will serve as the face of the business: leading the team, supporting members, and ensuring the center consistently delivers an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of instructors and front desk staff

Administrative & Reporting

• Manage basic reporting, payroll oversight, and scheduling
• Maintain systems and processes to support consistent results
• Communicate effectively with ownership and corporate support teams
