Job summary

Melton Hospitality Advisors has been retained to identify an experienced Opening General Manager to lead a new hotel opening in the Richmond, Virginia market. The role requires building and developing a high-performing team, shaping culture, and driving operational excellence from the ground up.

The Opening General Manager will oversee pre-opening planning, recruit and mentor department leaders, manage budgets and forecasts, and execute revenue growth while ensuring guest satisfaction and brand

Qualifications

• Must have proven GM experience in upscale or full-service hotels.
• Experience with major national brands (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt).
• Strong leadership and ability to build and mentor teams.

Melton Hospitality Advisors has been retained by our client to identify an experienced and dynamic Opening General Manager to lead an exciting new hotel opening in the Richmond, Virginia market.

This is a unique opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys building teams, shaping culture, driving operational excellence, and creating memorable guest experiences from the ground up. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the pre-opening process and will be responsible for establishing the foundation for long-term success.

Position Overview

The Opening General Manager will have overall responsibility for all aspects of hotel operations, including:
