This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a results-driven environment and takes pride in running a successful business.
We're looking for someone who thinks like an owner: proactive, accountable, commercially minded and comfortable making decisions. You'll have meaningful autonomy to manage the studio, develop your team and execute initiatives that support long-term growth.
The studio owner will continue to oversee payroll administration, bill payment, bookkeeping and related financial administration, allowing you to focus on growing the business, leading the team and delivering an outstanding member experience.
What You'll Do
- Own the studio's membership growth strategy, from lead generation and follow-up through consultations, conversions and onboarding.
- Build authentic relationships with prospective members, understand their goals and confidently guide them through membership decisions.
- Monitor sales performance, lead conversion and membership trends, identifying opportunities to improve results.
- Develop and execute local outreach initiatives, referral programs and community partnerships to expand the studio's reach.
- Take ownership of membership retention efforts and proactively address opportunities to improve the member experience.
Lead & Develop the Team
- Manage, coach and support studio employees, setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable for results.
- Oversee staff scheduling, coverage and day-to-day team coordination.
- Provide regular feedback, recognize strong performance and address performance concerns constructively.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing studio environment.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, reliability and a commitment to the MADabolic experience.
Own Studio Operations
- Oversee daily studio operations to ensure a consistent, welcoming and professional experience.
- Maintain operational standards, studio readiness and adherence to established processes.
- Resolve member concerns and routine operational challenges with sound judgment and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting and communication using approved studio systems.
- Partner with the studio owner on business priorities, performance trends and opportunities for improvement.
Build Community & Member Engagement
- Create an environment where members feel welcomed, supported and connected.
- Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations and community partners.
- Coordinate studio events, promotions and engagement initiatives.
- Serve as a visible, approachable leader and ambassador for MADabolic North Raleigh.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will be measured through a combination of business performance, team leadership and member experience, including:
- Consistent progress toward membership growth and revenue goals.
- Strong lead follow-up, consultation booking and sales conversion.
- Healthy member retention and engagement.
- Reliable studio operations and effective staff coverage.
- A motivated, accountable and well-supported team.
- Successful execution of community outreach and local marketing initiatives.
Specific performance goals and expectations will be established in partnership with the studio owner.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Experience in sales, customer-facing operations, hospitality, business development, team leadership or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people.
- Confidence initiating conversations, following up with prospective customers and asking for a sale.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage competing priorities and follow through on commitments.
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort using business systems and performance metrics to guide decisions.
- Ability to provide feedback, establish expectations and hold others accountable.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule aligned with studio needs, including some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a team or business location.
- Experience in membership-based sales, fitness, wellness or a similar service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, scheduling platforms or sales reporting.
- Experience developing local partnerships or community engagement initiatives.
Fitness industry experience is not required. We're happy to teach the MADabolic program and studio systems to someone who brings the right leadership skills, business judgment, accountability and willingness to learn.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position with a flexible schedule designed around the needs of the studio.
MADabolic operates across early mornings, midday classes, evenings and weekends. The General Manager is expected to maintain a meaningful presence during key operating periods, which may require a combination of opening, midday, closing and weekend shifts.
Schedules may vary from week to week and occasionally include split shifts. We value flexibility and accountability, but do not expect continuous on‑call availability or attendance at every class.
Our Hiring Approach
We're evaluating several staffing options to determine the best long-term structure for MADabolic North Raleigh.
While our goal is to identify a strong General Manager, we may also consider candidates for complementary or alternative studio roles based on their experience, strengths and availability. Any discussion of an alternative position would be transparent and entirely optional.
