Job summary

Intrepid Travel's Destination Management Company in the United States seeks a senior leader to guide operations across Intrepid, Wildland Trekking, and Urban Adventures from Golden, CO. You will implement strategic plans, build a high-performing leadership team, and drive growth while ensuring profitability and high-quality partner products.

You will also oversee field leaders, manage risk and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with global teams to achieve broader strategic goals.

Job description

• Lead Intrepid's Destination Management Company across Intrepid, Wildland Trekking, and Urban Adventures in the United States
• Implement long-term strategic plans while overseeing day-to-day business operations
• Build, coach, and retain a high-performing leadership team
• Foster a connected and engaged field workforce of leaders, guides, and crew across the United States
• Drive growth and position the Intrepid and Wildland brands in key U.S. markets and destinations, including national parks from coast to coast
• Develop new business and drive sales growth
• Ensure profitability and deliver exceptional products to partners
• Develop a high-performing team across the region
• Report to the President, Americas
• Work closely with the General Manager, DMC Canada and collaborate with other GMs and the global business to achieve broader strategic goals and results

Requirements

• A passion for travel is a must-have
• Strong knowledge of managing ground operations in the United States, including national parks, wilderness, and multi-day active products
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. adventure and experiential travel market, key destinations, and trade partners
• Minimum of senior management experience; company or country management experience preferred
• Proven senior leadership experience with direct accountability for a multidisciplinary team, including leading leaders (managers of managers)
• Demonstrated ability to set a clear vision and direction, translate strategy into team priorities, and hold people accountable for outcomes
• High level of financial literacy and proven commercial and strategic decision‑making skills
• Proven understanding of risk and incident management in outdoor and remote environments
• Working knowledge of U.S. tourism regulations, including federal land agency permitting (NPS Commercial Use Authorizations, USFS and BLM special use permits), state seller‑of‑travel registrations, and federal and state employment law
• Experience integrating acquired businesses, brands, and teams is highly regarded
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience in tourism or an operations-, sales-, or customer‑focused industry
