Job summary

Sentara Health in Norfolk, VA is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic (3rd Shift) to perform general maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license (VA or NC), and at least one year of general maintenance experience. Shift is 10:30 PM–7:00 AM with a 5,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a General Maintenance Mechanic (3rd Shift)

Position Status

Full-time/40 hours per week , Rotatingshift

Position defined as: Essential Personnel

Position Location

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH), Norfolk, Virginia

Position Summary

Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical electrical, plumbing and other items.

Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I and Type II preferred or Universal preferred.

Standard Working Hours

Standard Working Hours: Shift schedule: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Mission Essential Personnel.

Training provided during 2nd shift (2:30 PM- 11:00 PM) and/or 1st shift (7:00 AM- 3:30 PM). Primary responsibilities to include responding to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls.

*Qualified external candidates are eligible for $5,000 sign on bonus as part of offer package

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Drivers License (VA or NC)
• At least 1 full years of General Maintenance experience

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $25.90 - $40.31 hourly.
