Position OverviewThe General Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment, and a variety of machinery and equipment on 18-20 assigned buildings, covering approximately 1.8 million square feet of space. Work in this class is characterized by general and varied construction or repair work involving knowledge of several maintenance areas such as, but not limited to general maintenance, HVAC/R, carpentry, and masonry. This position reports to the Maintenance Area Supervisor.
Essential FunctionsGeneral Facility Maintenance- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building components, including doors, hardware, partitions, flooring, ceilings, and masonry.
- Maintain and repair general facility equipment and fixtures.
- Assist with carpentry and roofing-related maintenance tasks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance procedures

Required QualificationsEducation/Training/Experience:- High school diploma or GED equivalent
