Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Box Elder is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Associate to respond to guest and staff requests, perform repairs, paint and maintain hotel facilities, and support ongoing projects. The role requires knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and HVAC, with a focus on safety and quality.

You will work under the General Manager, with opportunities for skill development across departments and the chance to contribute to a modern, well-equipped property in Box Elder.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety management principles (OSHA) preferred.
• Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests from guests, employees and supervisors.
• Repair, maintain and overhaul hotel equipment and property; report issues to General Manager.
• Paint walls, ceilings, fixtures, building and equipment to prevent corrosion.
• Hang fixtures, replace light bulbs/filters and shampoo carpets.
• Make local deliveries and pickups; maintain tools and supplies inventory.
• Maintain parking lot, pool (if applicable), and grounds per quality standards.
• Work with General Manager on projects and preventative maintenance program.
• Conduct routine hotel inspections to determine maintenance needs.
• Keep sidewalks clean and clear of debris, snow or ice.
• Record and implement key control policies and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on equipment/machinery information.

Report problems to General Manager.Paint walls, ceiling, fixtures, building, and equipment to prevent corrosion.Hang wall fixtures, replace light bulbs and filters, and shampoo carpets.Make local deliveries and pick-ups.Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.Maintain parking lot, pool (if applicable), and grounds areas according to established quality standards.Work in accordance with General Manager to set up and complete special and on-going projects and maintains a preventative maintenance program.Conduct routine inspections of hotel and determine maintenance needs.Maintain all sidewalks and keep them clean and clear of debris and/or snow and ice.Responsible for recording and implementing of key control policies, practices, and procedures.Keep current on all information pertaining to any equipment or machinery on property.Additional duties as assigned.Other Qualifications:Basic knowledge of, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting and HVAC systems preferred.Ability to appropriately assign/delegate work and authority to others in the accomplishment of goals.Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adapt to and accommodate new methods and procedures.Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience, whether oral or written.Ability to develop and evaluate alternative courses of action; make decisions based on correct assumptions concerning resources and guidelines; define and implements solutions to problems; and recognize when no action is required.Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. Will require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
