Job summary

Proof of the Pudding is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for off-premise and on-site event locations in Atlanta, GA. The role supports kitchen operations by inspecting facilities, performing routine maintenance, and repairing equipment during high-volume events.

The ideal candidate has prior maintenance or technician experience in food-service settings, basic electrical/plumbing knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance or technician experience preferred, especially in a kitchen or food-service environment.
  • Knowledge of general kitchen equipment operation; repair experience a plus.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing understanding required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work long hours during large events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily facility inspections to ensure maintenance meets company standards.
  • Monitor waste management services and confirm scheduled pickups.
  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance and basic repairs on kitchen equipment, including electric and propane appliances.
  • Maintain and repair event furniture and props, including tables, chairs, bars, drywall, and furnishings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair small appliances and heating equipment.
  • Complete minor electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs as needed.
  • Inspect equipment for safety, functionality, and compliance.
  • Identify equipment needs, replacement parts, and repair priorities.
  • Maintain clean grounds and ensure safe storage of tools and equipment.
  • Document maintenance work, repairs, and equipment status.
  • Respond promptly to urgent repair requests during work hours.
  • Install shelving, whiteboards, artwork, and assemble furniture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment

This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with varying temperatures depending on event location (indoor kitchens, outdoor prep areas, or mobile kitchen units). Noise levels may be moderate to high during event operations. The technician will frequently move through different areas of the venue, including kitchens, storage spaces, and event sites.

Uniform Requirements

Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines. Non-slip shoes are necessary.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of moving through all areas of the venue
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds at times.
