Oliver James is seeking a Claims Examiner for General Liability with a hybrid schedule across US office locations. The role offers a base salary of $100,000 to $110,000 plus a 10% annual bonus and comprehensive benefits.

The position handles mid to complex Commercial General Liability claims from first notice through resolution, with emphasis on coverage analysis, litigation strategy, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premises, products, slip‑and‑falls, etc.)
• Experience with coverage investigation and litigated files
• Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
• Professional designations (AIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
• Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
• Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices
