Job summary

Jonus Group is partnering with a respected Property & Casualty insurer to hire a General Liability Claims Examiner. The role handles complex GL claims from inception through resolution, requiring extensive coverage knowledge.

The ideal candidate drafts Reservation of Rights letters, conducts coverage analyses, and manages high-exposure claims across premises, construction, product, and liquor liability. Strong negotiation, investigative, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent claims experience.
• 4+ years of commercial General Liability claims handling experience.
• Strong coverage analysis experience with interpreting complex commercial policies.
• Demonstrated experience drafting Reservation of Rights letters, coverage position letters, and denial letters.
• Experience managing litigated claims from assignment through resolution.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and investigative skills.
• Proficiency using electronic claims management systems.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex General Liability claims.
• Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage and communicate claim decisions effectively.
• Draft and issue Reservation of Rights letters, coverage position letters, denial letters, and other coverage-related correspondence.
• Manage claims involving: Premises Liability, Construction Liability, Product Liability, Dram Shop / Liquor Liability.
• Conduct detailed liability investigations, including witness interviews, evidence review, and analysis of medical records and legal documentation.
• Establish appropriate reserves and maintain accurate claim documentation throughout the life of each claim.
