Qualifications

• 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premises, products, slip‑and‑falls, etc.)
• Experience with coverage investigation and litigated files
• Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
• Professional designations (AIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
• Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
• Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices

$100,000 - $110,000 base + 10% bonus + benefits

A leading insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to join their General Liability team. This is a technical role handling mid to complex Commercial General Liability claims across a diverse portfolio. You will manage claims from first notice through resolution, with a strong focus on coverage analysis, litigation strategy, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
• Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
• Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claimsMaintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices

Qualifications

• Experience with other liability claims such as construction BI, NYLL and/or builders risk claims beneficial
• Strong exposure to coverage investigation and litigated files
• Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
• Bachelor's degree required; industry designations (AIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus
