Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. seeks an experienced Claims Examiner to join its General Liability team. This hybrid role handles mid to complex CGL claims from initial notice to resolution, emphasizing coverage analysis and litigation strategy.

2 days in office per week across multiple US locations, with a strong benefits package including PTO and medical insurance, plus a 10% bonus opportunity. A Bachelor’s degree and industry designations are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premise/product/slip & falls etc.).
• Experience with other liability claims such as construction BI, NYLL and/or builders risk claims beneficial
• Strong exposure to coverage investigation and litigated files

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
• Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
• Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices
