Job summary

University of Missouri - Columbia seeks an ERP Module Lead to serve as the business lead for General Ledger and financial accounting within a cloud ERP deployment. You will coordinate with the System Implementer and campus stakeholders to validate designs, conduct testing, and ensure a unified, scalable Chart of Accounts and accounting structures across four campuses and the health system.

Qualifications

• Minimum: a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred: experience in general ledger, financial accounting, or controller’s office operations in higher education or similarly complex environments.
• Familiarity with Chart of Accounts design, financial close, journal processing, and accounting governance.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB reporting standards, fund accounting, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with system implementations or conversions, including data mapping, integrations, and reconciliation between enterprise systems.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, process flows, test planning, and user acceptance testing.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or cloud-based ERP platforms.
• Ability to drive change management, develop training materials, and build consensus across decentralized units.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary institutional lead for General Ledger and financial accounting processes within the cloud ERP implementation.
• Coordinate with the System Implementer and internal project team to plan work, resolve questions, and deliverables.
• Explain policies, practices, pain points, controls, and institutional requirements to the implementation team.
• Engage accounting, finance, reporting, grants, payroll, and other stakeholders across all campuses and the health system.
• Facilitate input on future-state processes, Chart of Accounts, and close activities.
• Review designs to ensure alignment with institutional requirements and identify gaps or impacts.
• Own client-side tasks including documenting requirements, reviewing designs, preparing data, validating items, and tracking open items.
• Lead testing, document results, and coordinate defect resolution with business users.
