Job summary

GSME in San Jose is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to own the general ledger, record and review transactions, and prepare journal entries with monthly reconciliations. You will drive the month-, quarter-, and year-end close to ensure accurate reporting.

You will collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, HR, and Operations to keep reporting compliant with U.S. GAAP while supporting audits, budgeting, and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work cross-functionally.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA candidate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger by recording and reviewing financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals and reallocations.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations; resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end closes and provide financial statements.
• Review activity and perform variance analysis to identify trends.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist audits by providing documentation and auditor requests.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, HR, and Operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
