Job summary

Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America is hiring a General Laborer for 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM). The role offers a $20.75 hourly rate and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Responsibilities include supporting production, packing, material handling, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and may have prior warehouse or production experience.

Qualifications

• Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
• Able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators as necessary.
• Load and unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, pallets.
• Move items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means.
• Deliver items to designated work areas for processing.
• Pack products in crates or boxes by hand.
• Sort and bundle items, and fill containers.
• Mark labels on product loads.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the area.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Report quality or safety issues to supervisor.
• Follow DFA GMP and safety regulations.

Rate: $20.75

External Candidate -$1,500.00 sign-on bonus

GENERAL PURPOSE

Perform a variety of general duties of a basic, repetitive, and/or manual nature that are relevant to the work area(s) being supported.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist operators as necessary
• Load and/or unload materials, ingredients, parts, products, cases, crates, and pallets
• Move, stack, or place items on conveyor manually or by mechanized means
• Deliver production or area specific items to designated work areas for processing
• Pack products in crates or boxes by hand
• Sort, bundle, and fill containers or place in assembled units
• Mark or put identifying labels on product loads
• Maintain general housekeeping of the assigned area
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
• Report quality and operational issues or irregularities to supervisor as they occur
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred

Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to follow directions and carry out instructions

Able to effectively work in a team environment

Able to legibly write entries for record keeping

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Must be able to read, write and speak English
