Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is hiring a General Laborer to join our production and grinding team. You will perform general clean-up duties in yard and field sites, operate equipment, and help maintain safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is willing to work about 60 hours per week, outdoors, with overtime, and able to lift up to 70 lbs. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities to grow within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Ability to work ~60 hours per week, including Saturdays.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Lift up to 70 lbs frequently.
• Outdoor work in heat/cold, dust and noise.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters (training provided).
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and safety processes for general clean-up duties.
• Report accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Assume other duties as assigned by management.

This position reports to the Construction Services Supervisor or Manager. General Laborers are assigned to “general clean-up” duties within the production and grinding operations.We expect general laborers to perform general clean-up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.A successful candidate for this position will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed.
