Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling Inc in Dayton, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate a track loader, wheel loader, excavator, or grinder and perform pre/post inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork. You must be able to work approximately 60 hours per week, have a valid driver's license, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all weather conditions while following company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work approximately 60 hours per week, including Saturdays.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and climb into/out of equipment as needed.
• Must work outdoors in all weather and wear PPE at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment on job sites or yards.
• Complete daily maintenance tasks including cleaning radiators and cab interior.
• Submit daily inspection reports and loader logs; complete paperwork.
• Report accidents and injuries; follow SOPs and safety procedures.

You will be ultimately responsible for operating a variety of equipment types to clear and grind trees, limb, and other natural forest materials; as well as equipment used to manufacture mulches and soils.An equipment operator may be assigned to operate a track loader, wheel loader, excavator, or grinder. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.If you possess the applicable skills and have a proven track record, we want to speak with you!Key ResponsibilitiesPerform pre/post service inspections on equipment.Safely and efficiently operate equipment as directed while on job locations or in company yards.Complete daily service on equipment to include cleaning radiator/filters, cleaning equipment cab interior.Complete all necessary paperwork and submit daily (inspections reports, work orders, loader logs, etc.)Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.Follow all standard operating procedures and processes.Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).Other duties and responsibilities as required or assignedQualifications & Physical Requirements:Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, if applicable.Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods of time and walk for short periods.Must be able to climb into and out of equipment several times per day using 3 points of contact.Must be able to use hand and arms to steer and to operate finger controls and adjust controls as needed inside and outside of equipment.BenefitsWe offer highly competitive salaries and premium benefits as we continue to strive to create a rewarding work environment.
