Austin Wood Recycling is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator in Dayton, TX to handle a range of machinery for grinding trees, limbs, and other forest materials. You will operate track loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, or grinders, ensuring safe, productive performance on site and in yards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate equipment safely for long periods.
  • Comfort with climbing into/out of machinery and working outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

  • Pre/post inspections of equipment.
  • Safely operate equipment as directed on job sites or yards.
  • Complete daily service and paperwork including logs and inspections.
  • Follow all SOPs and wear PPE at all times.
  • Report accidents or injuries immediately.

You will be ultimately responsible for operating a variety of equipment types to clear and grind trees, limb, and other natural forest materials; as well as equipment used to manufacture mulches and soils.An equipment operator may be assigned to operate a track loader, wheel loader, excavator, or grinder. We expect equipment operators to operate our equipment in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.A successful candidate for this position will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.If you possess the applicable skills and have a proven track record, we want to speak with you!## *Key Responsibilities** Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.* Safely and efficiently operate equipment as directed while on job locations or in company yards.* Complete daily service on equipment to include cleaning radiator/filters, cleaning equipment cab interior.* Complete all necessary paperwork and submit daily (inspections reports, work orders, loader logs, etc.)* Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.* Follow all standard operating procedures and processes.* Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).* Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned## Job Qualifications## *Qualifications & Physical Requirements:** Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)* Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, if applicable.* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.* Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods of time and walk for short periods.* Must be able to climb into and out of equipment several times per day using 3 points of contact.* Must be able to use hand and arms to steer and to operate finger controls and adjust controls as needed inside and outside of equipment.* ## **Benefits** We offer highly competitive salaries and premium benefits as we continue to strive to create a rewarding work environment.
