Job summary

TemperPack in Lansing, MI is seeking a General Laborer for 1st shift (6:30am–2:30pm). You will run production lines, follow safety rules, and help maintain cleanliness and inventory. Prior production experience is preferred; the role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing 10–12 hours.

This position supports continuous improvement efforts and adheres to quality standards while working as part of a manufacturing team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for running production and following safety rules / procedures.
• Able to keep up with the flow of production and minimize downtime.
• Willingness to use band saws, rip saws, baler, and plussing machine.
• Responsible for building boxes with use of tape gun and staple gun
• Willingness to help with inventory at the end of the month.
• Responsible for area safety and housekeeping
• Committed to continuous process improvement and to produce safe and quality products that meet specifications and our responsibility to our customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is also preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours a day
• Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
• Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
