Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring for entry level general labor at our Union City facility. Pay starts at $17.05 per hour for 1st shift, with a $2.00 per hour differential for 2nd shift. Benefits begin on hire, and overtime with some weekend/holiday work is required.

Positions may be in any processing department. Candidates must meet physical requirements, wear PPE, and work in varied climate conditions while maintaining Tyson policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Able to maintain a safe work environment per Tyson policies.
• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work in various departments of the processing facility.
• Push, pull, carry or lift 50+ pounds where required.
• Perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced setting.
• Work in damp cold or damp hot environments and wear PPE.
• Stand for 8 to 10 hours and climb stairs as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and Tyson policies.

• REHIRES ARE SUBJECT TO A 1 YEAR WAIT PERIOD
• CANDIDATES THAT HAVE WORKED FOR TYSON FOODS OR TYSON AFFILIATES 3 OR MORE TIMES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR REHIRE.
• Schedule for 1st shift is Approx: 7AM to 4PM and for 2nd Shift the schedule is Approx: 4 PM to 1 AM, depending on department.
• MUST be willing to work overtime, some weekends and holidays as Production requires.
• The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Job Requirements

• This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
• These positions could work in any department of the processing facility.
• Some positions require the ability to push, pull, carry, or lift 50+ pounds.
• Jobs are fast paced and require repetitive motion.
• Must be able to work in damp cold or damp hot environments, use of hands and arms above shoulder level and be able to stand 8 to 10 hours a day.
• Must be able to climb up and down stairs to get to and from the work areas.
• Must wear PPE, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net and beard guard.
