Job summary
Exelon's PECO division seeks a General Engineer to lead and support engineering efforts across electric and gas distribution, transmission, substations, and related systems from the Philadelphia area. This role requires broad utility knowledge and a proactive approach to safety and reliability.
You will manage technical deliverables, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and may work extended hours during storms or energy delivery emergencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or PE license.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
- Knowledge of regulations, guides, standards and codes.
- Experience with field test equipment.
- 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
- PE license reduces OJT by up to 1 year.
- EIT or graduate degree qualifications can reduce experience requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering assignments of moderate complexity under guidance.
- Lead small engineering projects coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical support for design, installation and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Participate in evaluating and improving technical systems and processes.
