Job summary

GSA is seeking a General Attorney to serve as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. The role focuses on Federal Government contracts, acquisition policy, and related regulatory matters. It involves providing counsel on contract formation, administration, and disputes, as well as representation in protests and CBCA proceedings.

The position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, active bar membership, and at least two years of post-bar experience.

Qualifications

J.D. required and active Bar membership in any State, Territory, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
At least two years of professional legal experience after admission to the Bar.
Resume must clearly demonstrate specialized experience and may require law school transcripts.
Candidate may be subject to background and financial disclosures as part of the process.

Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel on Federal Government contracts, including transactional matters and bid protests.
Advise on contract formation, administration, and termination; perform legal research and opinions.
Give legal advice on non-acquisition programs such as travel, small business matters, and emergency management.
Advise officials on laws, regulations, and proposed legislation with nationwide impact.
Review regulations and agency issuances; represent the agency in protests and CBCA matters.
Provide litigation support to DOJ in Federal court proceedings.
