Job summary

GSA seeks a General Attorney to serve as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the General Counsel. The position involves providing legal counsel across government contracting, acquisition policy, and related programs.

The role requires a J.D. and active bar membership, with at least two years of professional legal experience after admission. Responsibilities include agency representation in protests and CBCA appeals, and litigation support to DOJ as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a Juris Doctor degree from a ABA-accredited law school and be an active member of the Bar in good standing in any State/territory/Puerto Rico.
• At least two years of professional legal experience acquired after admission to the bar.
• Resumes should clearly demonstrate how you meet the specialized experience and may not exceed two pages.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on Federal Government contracts, including transactional matters, contract claims and disputes, and bid protests and contract appeals.
• Advise on contract formation, administration, and termination for various acquisitions; conduct legal research and prepare opinions on complex issues.
• Offer guidance on non-acquisition programs including travel, small business, emergency management, and policy matters.
• Advise officials on laws, regulations, and significant decisions with nationwide impact or large sums of money.
• Represent the agency before GAO or protest officials and participate in CBCA appeals and related litigation support.
