Job summary

GSA's Office of the General Counsel seeks a General Attorney to serve as an Attorney-Advisor in the LP division, located in Washington, DC. The role provides legal counsel on Federal Government contracts, acquisition policy, and related activities.

You will advise on contract formation, administration and termination; conduct legal research; prepare opinions; and represent the agency before GAO, CBCA, and in court protests as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in any State, DC or Puerto Rico.
• At least two years of professional legal experience after bar admission.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on Federal Government contracts, including transactional matters and bid protests.
• Advise on contract formation, administration, and termination; conduct legal research and prepare opinions.
• Provide counsel on non-acquisition GSA programs (travel, small business, emergency management, etc.).
• Advise officials on laws, regulations, proposed legislation, and high-impact decisions.
• Review regulations and agency issuances affecting the Federal Acquisition Service.
• Represent the agency before GAO or protest officials for procurements.
• Prepare agency positions in CBCA appeals; support litigation in federal court.
• Provide litigation support to DoJ in federal protests.

Education
