Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is a rapidly growing private equity-backed pharmaceutical company seeking a General Counsel to join its executive leadership team. This individual will serve as a key legal and business advisor, supporting strategic growth initiatives across a portfolio of complex pharmaceutical and Medical Device assets while partnering closely with executive leadership and investors.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with corporate development, commercial, and executive leadership teams to assess new product opportunities, support in-licensing and acquisition initiatives, perform transaction-related due diligence, and structure strategic transactions that drive long-term portfolio growth.
• Lead the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and execution of strategic licensing, development, commercialization, manufacturing, supply, and acquisition transactions involving complex pharmaceutical and medical device assets
• Assist in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures, ensuring they are in compliance and updated, as needed
• Provide legal and due diligence support for acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, HR, operations, procurement, business development) on business and legal matters

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
• 15+ years of relevant general corporate and transactional legal experience
• Must have prior in-house experience within a Pharmaceutical, Generic Pharmaceutical, specialty pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related Life Sciences company
• Strong corporate background with experience in actively drafting and negotiating complex transactions (M&A, licensing, asset purchase, divestitures)
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain and contracting practices
