Job summary

Argo Group is seeking an Underwriter for the General Construction line in Los Angeles, reporting to the local office. This production underwriting role focuses on marketing, underwriting, and processing policies while maintaining strong broker relationships.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of underwriting experience with authority, plus proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Travel required; on-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years related insurance experience.
• 3 years underwriting experience with authority.
• Proven track record of driving profitable growth.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• IIA/CPCU designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies per underwriting guidelines.
• Interact with brokers to obtain risk details, negotiate terms and pricing.
• Manage assigned portfolio and monitor broker performance.
• Create, analyze, and interpret reports and dashboards.
• Complete underwriting analysis and maintain files.
• Review state laws for proper transact within the territory.
• Participate in department educational sessions.
