Job summary

The District of Columbia Department of General Services, Office of the General Counsel, is seeking an Attorney Advisor to draft, negotiate, and review lease agreements and real estate contracts for the Agency. The role supports litigation and provides strategic legal guidance to the Department.

Candidates must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited school, at least two years post-J.D. experience, and one year in real estate or contracts; active DC Bar membership or waivable eligibility; and

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of post J.D. professional attorney experience.
• Law degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
• One (1) year of specialized experience in real estate, contracts, transactions and/or drafting related documents at or equivalent to LA-12 grade level.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review lease agreements and real estate contracts.
• Provide litigation support for pending Agency litigation (excluding labor matters).
• Coordinate agency responses to pending litigation with the Office of the Attorney General.
