Job summary

Calculated Hire is seeking a detail-oriented General Accounting Analyst for a long-term, onsite role in Chesterfield, MO or Birmingham, AL. The position focuses on researching and resolving balance sheet reconciliation items, analyzing financial data, and collaborating across teams to drive timely resolutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 2+ years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP. CPA-candidate or related certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or related experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience researching and resolving accounting issues or discrepancies.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with SAP are expected.

Responsibilities

• Research and resolve reconciling items impacting balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and aged items to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Analyze financial data and supporting documentation to identify trends and process improvements.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, and business teams to obtain information and drive resolution.
• Track remediation efforts for unresolved items and document resolution for audit purposes.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency.
• Support audit requests and internal control activities as needed.
• Utilize Excel and SAP to analyze large datasets and perform reconciliations.
