Job summary

Scalo Inc in Pittsburgh is seeking a General Accountant to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn industry-specific accounting software.

The incumbent will work under the Accounting Supervisor, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality, in a fast-paced in-office environment Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM,

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2 years accounting-related experience.
• Experience with Sage 300 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Primary emphasis on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Bank Account Reconciliation, and month end close process.
• General ledger, cash management.
• Produce Work In Progress (WIP) and Backlog reports.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintenance of accounting files.
• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Provide exemplary, detail-oriented administrative support services to The Scalo Companies.
• Complete accounting functions through various computer programs and working heavily in the MS Office package.
• Ability to learn new software such as Sage Timberline, Timberscan.
• Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with monthly and weekly deadlines.
• Respond to Team Member and customer inquiries in a timely manner and with a friendly, professional demeanor in a team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
