Job summary

GEM Plumbing & Heating seeks a qualified Generac Generator Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and service residential and commercial generators. The role requires travel within Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut and offers opportunities to work with a dedicated team in a growth-focused company.

You will prepare estimates, document service reports, and maintain safe, compliant job sites while delivering excellent customer service to clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Generac certified technician.
• Journeyman license required.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of Generac generators.
• 2–3 years experience in residential or commercial settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in or completed required trade school as per state apprentice regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with local and national codes.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair systems per specifications and codes.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning Generac generators.
• Prepare accurate repair estimates and service reports.
• Travel within RI, MA, and CT for commercial work.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Read blueprints to determine parts needed and materials.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate with clients.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines.
