Job summary

The Generative AI Support Engineer role is based in DT's Support Services Division, focusing on an operational readiness model to scale AI platforms across city departments with strong emphasis on security, monitoring, and governance.

Responsibilities include pilot execution, vendor liaison, deployment methods, and cost modeling to inform DT leadership. This is a full-time, hybrid position supporting city services in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60+ semester/90+ quarter credits in CS/IT/related field; substitution allowed.
• One year of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining a system or platform.
• Substitution: one year of additional experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Design access provisioning, license management, and account administration for AI platforms.
• Build and pilot usage, performance, and service-health monitoring processes.
• Develop and validate platform configuration standards aligned with security and data requirements.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity on security review and risk assessment of new tools.
• Test local AI agents and deployment methods in a controlled environment.
